  • Thursday, April 17, 2003: Uniform beam distribution using both octupoles. Smooth spill using active filter.

    7x1010, 2 GeV protons.

In left image, the left distribution is the horizontal profile at the NSRL target location, the right is the vertical distribution. The right image shows a 300 msec spill (this with no feedback to "square" the distribution) with some saturation beginning to occur in the ion chamber.

Tuesday, April 8, 2003: First Pass Uniform beam distribution using octupoles.

    1x1010, 2 GeV protons.

Beam distribution on the lower right has been made uniform using one of the NSRL beamline octupoles.

Tuesday, April 8, 2003: First Measurements of Spill structure!

    1x1010, 2 GeV protons.

Image on the left is without the Main Magnet Active filter. The image in the right is with the active filter on.

Monday, April 7, 2003: First Beam to NSRL Target Station!

    2x1010, 2 GeV protons.

Flag image is first time beam is seen on the new firewire camera system, on Friday, April 4, 2003.

  • October 23, 2002: First Beam Extracted from AGS Booster to RF063 Flag.
