The Checkout Utility Application:

A Checkout utility application program was written to perform VME system installation tests. This program was written to test major aspects of the installation, including interconnecting copper and fiber optic wiring, basic hardware module operation, and front end computer software configuration. The application program uses the adoIf class to communicate to hardware through ADOs and device drivers, and thereby performs a full end to end hardware and software system test from the console level computer down to the hardware level.

This application program can also be used a a general purpose utility to periodically verify that the console level computer is communicating as expected to the front end computer and related hardware. A general information window reads and displays the VME ID from all hardware modules installed.
