Instruction for e880 polarimeter operation  Haixin 02/20/03

The target is controlled locally in the HITL2 house. Periodically, the
target scan should be
used to center the target on the beam. Currently, the first carbon
target is located around
1950. This is the primary target one should use. Do not try to run the
target beyond 2500.
The program will stop run the target into the beam when TTB beam stop is
open.
Sometimes, the user switch may not turn off the TTB beam stop, then the
target will not go in.

To check the target position, use connector "AGS pp C20 target" at MCR
console 3. The home
position is about -4.5V, while the first target is around -1V.

To run the VME scaler polarimeter:
From terminal window, run  /home/cfsa/mcr/huang/vmepola.tcl

To run e880 polarimeter DAQ from MCR:
From terminal window,
ssh w07.ags.bnl.gov -l e880

Start a new run of highlighted. Hit Return
Either answer Y, Return
or A lot of returns
Run will start


<shift><|> to end run
Returns until you get to page of asymmetries.
Look at RTLold and write down the asymmetry and error bar.

The data is automatically stored on mcrsgi1.ags.bnl.gov. the directory
is
/disk14/polarized/e880.
